Unlike the original Wineskin Project by doh123 that worked on OS X 10.6 to macOS 10.12 (without tweaks), this project supports MacOSX10.13 to macOS11. The part where PCSX2 seems to glitch is when I tried to enter full screen by double clicking, however this was my fault and doesn't affect the program. Wineskin is a user-friendly tool used to make ports of Microsoft Windows software to macOS. sorry for the mistake in the video where I accidentally cant find the iso file for Jak and Daxter (you will need to download PS2 isos separately), and for touching the hot corner which opened launchpad. Wineskin engine install#
You will also need to install and download the program Wineskin Winery, add it to your applications folder, and install Wineskin Engine 2.16 AND 1.9.11 if you haven’t installed this program PCSX2 will fail to load.
Wineskin engine update#
It has a built in update check and will prompt you when a new version is available, and let you auto download and update. It is used to download everything else needed to use the software. Install a wineskin engine - click the + beneath the list area of the engines, choose the latest one and click Download and Install Create a new wrapper - name it in the subsequent dialog, 'Please choose a name for this wrapper', click OK. Wineskin Winery is the only program to download. Open the Wineskin winery app and update the wrapper - click on the Update button. Sorry for the lag during testing, the MacBook Air can't handle Jak and Daxter very well. Wineskin is several programs working together, but Wineskin Winery is the main management program. Follow the steps in the video to get PCSX2 running on the latest Mac software.
I've tested these successfully on 10.9.5, 10.10.3 and 10.11.5 specifically with online games Star Wars: The Old Republic, Everquest II and Neverwinter Online. Unfortunately, Wine is a very complex program, and subsequent updates seem to suffer regressions, meaning a program that worked with an older version of wine may not work with a newer version of Wine. wineskin-engines wineskin prepared engines optimized for OS X 10.9 Mavericks, 10.10 Yosemite and 10.11 El Capitan. Ported using wineskin, download below comes with all that is needed, including the bios and the program. A Wineskin Engine is basically a version of Wine.
